About the Role

The Technical Support Specialist role is designed to support the growing needs of students, faculty, and staff through the deployment of several innovative course delivery methods. Specifically, this role is prioritized to support the new Heritage Hubs initiative. Heritage Hubs is a new exciting delivery method allowing students to attend classes with other students, from a shared location. Heritage Hubs are located throughout Southwestern Ontario and in Calgary, with plans to expand throughout Canada, and will connect to Heritage classes via video conferencing. This role also includes traditional on-campus IT support responsibilities. Some travel and remote
work will be required.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for enabling implementation of the Heritage Hubs course delivery method as directed by the IT and Media Productions Manager.
• Provide responsive and professional IT support to faculty, staff, students, and Heritage Hub facilitators both on-campus and remotely, ensuring a high standard of customer service.
• Support and maintain Heritage Hub classroom and video conferencing technologies to ensure reliable, interactive, and effective delivery of both one-to-many and many-to-many learning experiences.
• Research, implement, and maintain new and existing classroom and business technologies, ensuring systems remain current, secure, and fully operational.
• Troubleshoot, configure, repair, and maintain a wide range of IT hardware, software, peripherals,
workstations, and network systems across Windows, MacOS, iOS, Android, Microsoft, and Linux
environments.
• Monitor cybersecurity systems, network infrastructure, and information security compliance while
configuring hardware and software according to organizational standards and policies.
• Assist in the development of IT customer service processes and maintain accurate inventory records of organizational technology assets and equipment.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience working in an IT support role, preferably in classroom, office, server room,
network closet, and Pro AV production environments.
• 1-2 years of experience supporting Windows 10 or 11 and MacOS operating systems.
• 1-2 years of experience with Microsoft Active Directory Domain Services or Microsoft Entra ID (Azure Active Directory).
• 1-2 years of experience with teaching and presentation technologies preferred.
• Familiarity with Microsoft 365 administration of Outlooks, Teams, OneDrive, and InTune.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Exchange on-premises and hybrid solutions.
• Familiarity with Ubiquiti (Unifi) access points and network switches is an asset.
• Familiarity with Linux operating systems is an asset.
• Personal vehicle required for travel to Hub church locations.
• Some evening and/or weekend work required.

and effective information flow across teams and stakeholders.
• Skilled at explaining IT issues, solutions, and recommendations in a way that is easy to understand and
actionable.
• Builds trust and strong working relationships through a helpful, patient, and service-oriented approach.

Travel & Work Expectations

• This role involves regional travel, approximately three to four days per week.
• Evening or overnight travel may occasionally be required.
The expected salary for this position is between C$45,000 and C$55,000.
